![]() Revival is for a purpose and always results in the growth of the church. When we truly accept God’s forgiveness and Christ’s love, we feel compelled to share it with others.Ī pastor friend put it this way: “The true measure of revival is what happens afterwards. It’s about how we are changed when we know we are loved. Don’t waste this opportunity.” If you listen to interviews of those who have experienced this revival onsite, you will hear them talk of sensing the love of Christ around them. By contrast, the love of Christ is “gentle and kind.” Then he said, “Come up here and experience His love. If you listen to the original chapel service that preceded the current Asbury Revival, you will hear Zach talk about the lesser, selfish forms of love in our world. It’s a time to stop and individually change our way of thinking. Special “ times of refreshing” require the right conditions. This morning I ran across the word kairos in Acts 3:19. We need refreshing because we are wilted! We need God. We as individuals are weak, fearful, and uncertain. We can’t map a path to a better future without first acknowledging our present condition. So what is our part at this opportune time? And what is God up to? Many who are onsite at the Asbury Revival are saying, “No one is planning this. But we are also seeing God’s hand moving in a mighty way. 1 We are seeing evil forces showing their true colors. This is “a moment of great importance and significance” when conditions are ready and favorable. ![]() While we see upheaval in our culture (in values, illnesses, earthquakes, wars), we also see a spiritual revival drawing unprecedented attention simultaneously in multiple places. ![]() We are standing in a critical, decisive point in time – a kairos moment. ![]()
